Scent of Rain

The lights were blinking in the eve of an unusual Sunday early June. The holy cow, she was wandering next to the banyan tree shaking her tail gently, mourning in a low voice expecting the arrival of an unusual guest. The leaves were whirling with the winds of fragrance. Can you see the flowers of hopes? All are waiting for your arrival. Again thoughts and sizzling of a beautiful rainy season that brings us the most precious times in our lives.

I become a child of the innocent dreams of endless. You are everything for me. You are the daughter of the seas, the clouds your mother and the earth your dream. You become the hopes of many in your varying stages. You are the theme for the poets and writers. When you touches the ground what is your kind of feeling? Is it the satisfaction and completion of a lengthy and endless journey? What is the motivation for you to travel so long?

At last you come to my mind with a handful of dreams. Whether it’s the daytime or the night, I am fond of you. I watch your beauty in your varying forms. Sometimes you are not that cool, the drops of tiny and when you with the wind you like to pour in an en changing way. And you are the most beautiful with the bold drops of heaven. Sometimes you sing the melody of an eternal music. That makes the real part of my own dreams and thoughts. Shall I lend the precious moments from you? I don’t know whether you like it or not? Still I have the lust inside me.

It's now full of water in front of me. And you were still with the drum beats. May I put my legs beneath into the fresh streams? So that I can run, slow first, and then be in speed. Will you follow me up to there, alone, where my dreams going to perish?

Hope for a real change…

With love you The scent of rain.

Gloomy Thursday

Exact after one week of my grand mother’s passing day, I am writing this blog. I lost my dear grand mother, Subadhra on the last Thursday, 28th June 2007 at 7 pm. She was 82 years of old. We are shocked off her sad demise, and yet we can’t believe that she was away from us. She was died of a sudden heart attack that happened in the past evening of Wednesday, 27th June.

For me she was everything. From her I learned the lessons of kindness, love, affection, solitude, etc to a lot. I never heard any kind of bad words from her mouth. She was loveable for the neighborhood. The power of love she poured was energetic. She cared me very much. Never had she talked rude, rather she keeps enormous love towards us. When I was with her I like to hear the fairy tales and the past livings. She loves to talk the past, about how they lived, the surroundings, the nature, the food they prepared, neighborhood love irrespective of cast or religion etc. I am a keen listener and I put into my memory. So next time I can remember and my memories up to date. I remember it’s worth listening her saying. Only she talks little in a very low, loving voice. Seldom has she speak a lot, only when she is in the midst of her dear and near ones. I noticed several times she has the habit of absconding. She owns a great heart and broad mind.

Some days before her demise, my mind was restless. An inner voice talking to me in times that she has to go to the place of love in the near future. Surprisingly my brother also have the same insight. Couple of days before he had had a conversation with her in the night time. In that he talked about her what is death and why it’s fruitful. And on the Wednesday when she was in high pain she tried to smile a lot. That’s makes paining us a lot.

Incidentally it had happened. No one can resist her from the last fate.

"You are in our hearts,
You are in our thoughts,
And,
Your memories make us alive."

Knowledge

“The goal of mankind is knowledge ... Now this knowledge is inherent in man. No knowledge comes from outside: it is all inside. What we say a man 'knows', should, in strict psychological language, be what he 'discovers' or 'unveils'; what man 'learns' is really what he discovers by taking the cover off his own soul, which is a mine of infinite knowledge.”

Past, Present, Future

“We are responsible for what we are, and whatever we wish ourselves to be, we have the power to make ourselves. If what we are now has been the result of our own past actions, it certainly follows that whatever we wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions; so we have to know how to act.”

My Dream

"Everyone in the world should be able to sleep without fear at least for one night. Everyone should be able to ear to his fill, at least for one day. There should be at least one day when hospitals see no one admitted due to violence. By doing selfless service for at least one day, everyone should help the poor and the needy. It's Amma's prayer that at least this small dream be realised."

The Feeling of Difference

I am writing this after 3 days of our temple festival. We all have a wonderful time back in my village. There I can see the innocent smiles on the faces of my villagers. Everywhere I find the happiness. There is a special attraction of goddesses Kali in the festival times, seeming like she is more powerful.

It’s a festival of many, festival of lights, sounds, music, color, togetherness, love, compassion, flowers, devotion, etc. How can I describe “The Feeling of Difference”?

The pooja’s conducted in front of the Kali makes each a divine feeling. The devotees participated in worships with utmost concentration and I think they get the result in return at once.

Many cultural programs staged in these 3 important days.

1st day it’s the time for the drama named ‘Muthappan’, by Kozhikode Sankeerthana. A high pitched classical ancient historical drama which owns about 42 awards in different categories. I watched it with a keen interest. Though I am craze about the live theatre.

2nd day we have eared for the voice of living legend Shri. Kedamangalam Sadanandan, well known story teller (Kadhaprasangam) in Malayalam language. While going through ‘Karnan’, an important character in the famous Indian epic Mahabharata, we can feel we are with Karnan and the old Indian heritage. After the story telling I met him in person and talked with Sadanandan master. It was a great opportunity for me. Though he is around 83 years of age still powerful in his art form and talks and his excellent memories. No doubt he is a versatile genius.

Last was the day for classical music and dance. A 7th standard girl named Niya Joy’s first stage program was conducted. She has a thrilling voice. She secured many prizes and won many competitions. She started from low tempo and reached the high at the end of the concert. The magnificent dance performance by Amalu Shaji and Prathibha Kalamandalam brings the audience on to the horizons.

I took part in these sacred days actively. I wandered temple premises most of the times alone. Its my wish and it happened!

A must read book.

LCR import and Bacardi RUM

I have completed the LCR importing of W01, W03, W05, E01 and E03 carrier’s. A hectic task was successfully completed.

LCR is the acronym for Least Cost Routing. In international voice telecommunications, Least Cost Routing (LCR) is the process that provides customers with cheap telephone calls. Within a telecoms carrier, an LCR team will be choosing routes from between twenty to over one hundred suppliers for five hundred or more destinations across the world on a weekly or even daily basis to maintain a competitive cost base and acceptable call quality.

Thanks to Georg my colleague for providing me the right directions.

---

Never miss any opportunity when you are feeling happiness and satisfaction away from your materialistic life.

This time I enjoyed with Bacardi rum, of course very rich in taste. When added with lemonades I feel the difference in flavor.

Consumption of RUM is never injurious to health because,

RUM is: Regular Use like Medicine.

Is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks,

And Death's pale flag is not advanced there.

Happy Vishu

Wishing you all a prosperous and harmonious Vishu celebrations ahead. May lord bless you all...

Uphill by Christina Rossetti

Does the road wind up-hill all the way?
Yes, to the very end.
Will the day's journey take the whole long day?
From morn to night, my friend.

But is there for the night a resting-place?
A roof for when the slow dark hours begin.
May not the darkness hide it from my face?
You cannot miss that inn.

Shall I meet other wayfarers at night?
Those who have gone before.
Then must I knock, or call when just in sight?
They will not keep you standing at that door.

Shall I find comfort, travel-sore and weak?
Of labour you shall find the sum.
Will there be beds for me and all who seek?
Yea, beds for all who come.

Reflections

"In moments of deep love there are glimpses of the orginal face, although those glimpses now come as reflections. Just as a full moon night you see the moon reflected in the silent lake, so does love function as a lake. The moon reflected in the lake is the beginning of the search for the real moon. If you have never seen the moon reflected in the lake, you may never search for the real moon. You will go again and again in to the lake to search for the moon because in the begin you will think, 'This is where the real moon is deep down at the bottom of the lake'. You will dive again and again and you will come up emptyhanded, you will not find the moon there. Then one day it will dawn on you, that may be this moon is just a reflection. That is a great insight. Then you can look upwards. Then where is the moon, is this is a reflection? If it is a reflection, you have to look in the opposite direction. The reflection was there, deep in the lake - the real must be above the lake. For the first time you look upwards and the journey has started."

Disgrace and shame

Do not deter him."

The Seventh Surprise

Somebody once asked god.

"What surprises you the most, about mankind?"

God replied.

"They lose their health to make money and then, lose their money to restore their health.
By thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present.
Such that, they live neither for the present nor for the future.
They live as if they will never die and they die, as if they had never lived."

It’s about “The Last Breath”

It’s about “The Last Breath”

I started on the working of “The Last Breath”, visualizing it’s to be the confluence of the dead and the live.

I got the inspiration today on my routine walk towards my office in the morning about 11. I lost my conscious all of a sudden while taking my last breath. Still alive I am!

Indeed it was a powerful experience.

Here of course I have to work from the darkness. Most the last breath’s happen near to the shadow of the dark. It holds the cosmic variance of the atmospheric motions. Like a comet “The Breath” is flying over the shadows of the palaces made of pure gold.

Why pure gold? I doubted here, shall the palace made up of human bones and skulls of the long lasting victims of the holy wars?

Is it a near death experience? Some times it is yes and sometimes its not.

Shall I put the background bit a silent, bought from the veins of millions of souls taken re-birth from their past invaluable lives? Still they want to try their next evaluations by taking new births, so waiting for another and another up to where?

Does “The Last Breath” has an answer to the immortals? Wish it to be.

Days are going and the springs are coming. But “The Last Breath” holds his breath. It’s sudden, like an unexpected rain or a drizzle in a hot summer.

At last it remembers me again and again that I am going to cross the last point of my madness.

Jerry's Scrap

Hi nineesh

Im now staying in a forestlike area in pattanamtitta district with a sannyasi, swami satswaroopananda. Its almost forest here. He is really a great guy, very interesting. He used to wander for many years in himalaya and forests. He has a great knowledge on medicines, healing, upanishads, yoga, pranayama, meditation and lots of other subjects. No electricity, no range (mobile), no bathroom here... Its quite an experience for me... I have to bath in nature, totally new to me hehe. Im very much enjoying here. Total silence. He is teaching me some pranayama and treating my bowel problems. According to him i have ulser in the bowels and it will take 3 months to heal, since i have it already for many years.

I couldnt check my email or orkut for the last 6 days. Thats the reason for my late reply, sorry. Wish you a great weekend

May God Bless you

Don't waste food

"I felt very fortunate to live in this part of the world. I promise I will never waste my food no matter how bad it can taste and how full I may be. I promise not to waste water. I pray that this little boy be alleviated from his suffering.

I pray that we will be more sensitive towards the suffering in the world around us and not be blinded by our own selfish nature and interests. I hope this picture will always serve as a reminder to us about how fortunate we are and that we must never ever take things for granted.

Think & look at this...when you complain about your food and the food we waste daily...

We can love the infinite in all & thus we can find joy in all.

Poetry by Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable, illogical, & self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight:
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

(This poem was written by Mother Teresa and is engraved on the wall of her home for children in Calcutta.)

Care your Heart

Here was a chat, arranged by WIPRO for its employees, with Dr.Devi Shetty, Narayana Hrudayalaya (Heart Specialist) Bangalore . The transcript of the chat is given below. Useful for everyone.
------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ---------

Qn: What are the five thumb rules for a layman to take care of his heart?

Ans:
1. Diet - Less of carbohydrate, more of protein, less oil
2. Exercise - Half an hour's walk, at least five days a week; avoid lifts and avoid sitting for a longtime
3. Quit smoking
4. Control weight
5. Control blood pressure and sugar

Qn: Is eating non-veg food (fish) good for the heart?

Ans: No

Qn: It's still a grave shock to hear that some apparently healthy person gets a cardiac arrest. How do we understand it in perspective?

Ans: This is called silent attack; that is why we recommend everyone past the age of 30 to undergo routine health checkups.

Qn: Are heart diseases hereditary?

Ans: Yes

Qn: What are the ways in which the heart is stressed? What practices do you suggest to de-stress?

Ans: Change your attitude towards life. Do not look for perfection in everything in life.

Qn: Is walking better than jogging or is more intensive exercise required to keep a healthy heart?

Ans: Walking is better than jogging since jogging leads to early fatigue and injury to joints .

Qn: You have done so much for the poor and needy. What has inspired you to do so?

Ans: Mother Theresa, who was my patient.

Qn: Can people with low blood pressure suffer heart diseases?

Ans: Extremely rare

Qn: Does cholesterol accumulates right from an early age (I'm currently only 22) or do you have to worry about it only after you are above 30
years of age?

Ans: Cholesterol accumulates from childhood.

Qn: How do irregular eating habits affect the heart?

Ans: You tend to eat junk food when the habits are irregular and your body's enzyme release for digestion gets confused.

Qn: How can I control cholesterol content without using medicines?

Ans: Control diet, walk and eat walnut.

Qn: Can yoga prevent heart ailments?

Ans: Yoga helps.

Qn: Which is the best and worst food for the heart?

Ans: Best food is fruits worst are oil.

Qn: Which oil is better - gingili, groundnut, sunflower, saffola, olive?

Ans: All oils are bad; the so-called best oil company has the largest marketing budget.

Qn: What is the routine checkup one should go through? Is there any specific test?

Ans: Routine blood test to ensure sugar, cholesterol is ok. Check BP, Treadmill test after an echo.

Qn: What are the first aid steps to be taken on a heart attack?

Ans: Help the person into a sleeping position, put an aspirin tablet under the tongue with a sorbitrate tablet if available, and rush him to
a coronary care unit since the maximum casualty takes place within the first hour.

Qn: How do you differentiate between pain caused by a heart attack and that caused due to gastric trouble?

Ans: Extremely difficult without ECG.

Qn: What is the main cause of a steep increase in heart problems amongst youngsters? I see people of about 30-40 yrs of age having heart attacks
and serious heart problems.

Ans: Increased awareness has increased incidents. Also, edentary lifestyles, smoking,junk food, lack of exercise in a country where
people are genetically three times more vulnerable for heart attacks than Europeans and Americans.

Qn: Is it possible for a person to have BP outside the normal range of 120/80 and yet be perfectly healthy?

Ans: Yes.

Qn: Marriages within close relatives can lead to heart problems for the child. Is it true?

Ans : Yes, co-sanguinity leads to congenital abnormalities and you may not have a software engineer as a child

Qn: Many of us have an irregular daily routine and many a times we have to stay late nights in office. Does this affect our heart? What
precautions would you recommend?

Ans : When you are young, nature protects you against all these irregularities. However, as you grow older, respect the biological clock.

Qn: Will taking anti-hypertensive drugs cause some other complications (short / long term)?

Ans : Yes, most drugs have some side effects. However, modern anti-hypertensive drugs are extremely safe.

Qn: Will consuming more coffee/tea lead to heart attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Are asthma patients more prone to heart disease?

Ans : No.

Qn: How would you define junk food?

Ans : Fried food like Kentucky , McDonalds, samosas, and even masala
dosas.

Qn: You mentioned that Indians are three times more vulnerable. What is the reason for this, as Europeans and Americans also eat a lot of junk
food?

Ans : Every race is vulnerable to some disease and unfortunately, Indians are vulnerable for the most expensive disease.

Qn: Does consuming bananas help reduce hypertension?

Ans : No.

Qn: Can a person help himself during a heart attack (Because we see a lot of forwarded emails on this)?

Ans : Yes. Lie down comfortably and put an aspirin tablet of any description under the tongue and ask someone to take you to the nearest
coronary care unit without any delay and do not wait for the ambulance since most of the time, the ambulance does not turn up.

Qn: Do, in any way, low white blood cells and low hemoglobin count lead to heart problems?

Ans : No. But it is ideal to have normal hemoglobin level to increase your exercise capacity.

Qn: Sometimes, due to the hectic schedule we are not able to exercise. So, does walking while doing daily chores at home or climbing the stairs
in the house, work as a substitute for exercise?

Ans : Certainly. Avoid sitting continuously for more than half an hour and even the act of getting out of the chair and going to another chair
and sitting helps a lot.

Qn: Is there a relation between heart problems and blood sugar?

Ans: Yes. A strong relationship since diabetics are more vulnerable to heart attacks than non-diabetics.

Qn: What are the things one needs to take care of after a heart operation?

Ans : Diet, exercise, drugs on time. Control cholesterol, BP, weight.

Qn: Are people working on night shifts more vulnerable to heart disease when compared to day shift workers?

Ans : No.

Qn: What are the modern anti-hypertensive drugs?

Ans : There are hundreds of drugs and your doctor will chose the right combination for your problem, but my suggestion is to avoid the drugs
and go for natural ways of controlling blood pressure by walk, diet to reduce weight and changing attitudes towards lifestyles.

Qn: Does dispirin or similar headache pills increase the risk of heart attacks?

Ans : No.

Qn: Why is the rate of heart attacks more in men than in women?

Ans : Nature protects women till the age of 45.

Qn: How can one keep the heart in a good condition?

Ans : Eat a healthy diet, avoid junk food, exercise everyday, do not smoke and, go for a health checkup if you are past the age of 30 for at
least once in two yrs. And work very hardand Enjoy urLife...

Beautiful Dreamer

Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me,
Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee;
Sounds of the rude world heard in the day,
Lull'd by the moonlight have all pass'd away!

Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song,
List while I woo thee with soft melody;
Gone are the cares of life's busy throng.

Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea,
Mermaids are chaunting the wild lorelie;
Over the streamlet vapors are borne,
Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn.

Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart,
E'en as the morn on the streamlet and sea;
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart,

Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

"Certainly knowledge is better than practice, but better than knowledge is meditation, superior to which is renunciation of the fruits of actions. Indeed after renunciation there is only peace."

Mother

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me

"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,

Put them all together, they spell

"MOTHER,"

A word that means the world to me.
